Living as Art
W Hotel Seoul · 2005–2015

Overview
“Living as Art” is a decade-long immersive digital art exhibition created by Ho CHANG (장호) and ARTANI Paris, transforming the entire W Hotel Seoul into a living canvas of light, color, and motion. From 2005 to 2015, every corridor, lobby, bar, restaurant, and elevator became part of a four-season cycle of digital emotion.
The project pioneered the idea that digital space itself can breathe like a living organism — constantly changing, reacting, and evolving with time and atmosphere. This exhibition marked one of the earliest integrations of motion design, architecture, and hospitality in the world.
Concept
“Space is not static — it’s a living rhythm of light.”
Each season was represented by its own visual and emotional code — from spring’s fluid motion to winter’s crystalline stillness. The digital artworks were not mere projections but ambient emotions that reshaped the entire perception of the hotel space.

Medium & Technique
The artworks were created through motion graphics, digital projection, real-time rendering, and light orchestration. Each piece was built to evolve continuously — no two moments were ever identical. Using 3D rendering systems and ambient soundscapes, the installations merged technology and emotion into one sensory language.
Legacy
For ten years, “Living as Art” redefined the boundaries between architecture and art. It became a landmark project for the W Hotel global brand, and a milestone in Asia’s digital art history. All works are now archived under the ARTANI Paris Digital Collection, preserving the emotional landscapes of that decade.
